Carrie Vey, MD
Dr. Vey attended Wake Forest University as an undergraduate majoring in chemistry. Carrie worked as an office assistant in the gerontology department, a teaching assistant in the chemistry department and as the
director of youth athletics for the Indian River County Recreation Department while a student at Wake Forest. She was also the recipient of multiple undergraduate scholarships including Dollars for Scholars
and the Rose McFarland Finley and Richardson Foundation Scholarships. Dr. Vey went on to receive her MD degree from the University of South Florida. She was a member of AOA, the
American Academy of Family Physicians, the Florida Academy of Family Physicians and the American Student Medical Association and AMA. Carrie was a very active volunteer during her medical school
years. She participated in the USF Profession of Medicine Course as a preceptor, the Family Medicine Interest Group as president, was a 'Big Buddy" at the Children's Cancer Center, and co-chair of several
other committees and interest groups. Dr. Vey's interests outside medicine include reading, playing the piano and spending time with friends and her dog.
